Our meeting this month will be held at Lake County GOP Headquarters, August 24th, at 7pm- and the business portion of the meeting will be very short. The address is 85 North Park Place in Painesville. Remember, 7, not 7:30, and GOP Headquarters, not Olivor Twist. However, one or more of our Executive Board Members or Committee Chairpersons will be there as early as 6pm to get started on the meeting’s main events:

1. Phone Banks- Joe Derkin, who is running the Victory Center in Lake County, will be training people to participate in phone banks. He has also generously offered to buy us pizza! This should take place around 7pm or a little before, so the earlier you can get there, the better.

2. LGYR Service Project- For those who would prefer, we will be needing help to wrap up the LGYR Service Project. This will consist of gathering up the items described below from their drop- off locations, and possibly counting items and/or getting them ready for a delivery to their final destination. Here is a little more information about this project:”

LGYR SERVICE PROJECT-

Our LGYR service project is off to a great start- thank you to everyone who has brought in their school supplies to help the Lake County Veterans give our area’s children what they need to start the school year out right. Below is a list of what is needed, and who to contact for questions. Please try and get these supplies in by Monday, August 16. Remember, every little bit helps!

-$50-250 Gift Cards for clothing are also useful (Target, etc.) Please seal

Thanks you to the large number of Lake Geauga Young Republicans who worked the Republican booth at the Fest.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you at our 2010 LGYR Picnic. The Picnic will be in the pavilion at the Kirtland Community Center, which is located at 7900 Euclid- Chardon road in Kirtland from 6:30 to 9:30 pm on Tuesday, June 22. For those not familiar with the area, please respond to this email and someone will get back to you with directions. Please bring a dish/item to share if possible, and note that alcohol is welcomed, but not provided. Hamburgers, hot dogs, a few snacks, and soft drinks/water will be provided.

At our usual location, Olivor Twist in downtown Willoughby.

Our special guest speaker will be Mike Gutierrez, Lake County GOP Campaign Committee Chair.

LGYR HALL OF FAME Dinner: Friday May 7th at Capelli’s in Mentor. Inductee: the Honorable Judge Vincent Culotta of the Lake County Court of Common Pleas.

Our keynote speaker will be the Honorable Justice Maureen O’Connor of the Ohio State Supreme Court. The event will be May 7th at Cappelli’s in Mentor.

The Lake County For Kasich Team will be hosting an organizational meeting on Monday, April 26th at the Lake County Republican Party Headquarters. We would like for you to consider coming out to learn how you can play an important role in helping to elect John Kasich and Mary Taylor this November.

At the meeting we will discuss upcoming events and volunteer opportunities like the Call from Home Program and the 88 county get-out-the-vote effort on April 28th, as well as the importance of building a strong grassroots team and internet/social media presence in our county.

The battle for the future of Ohio depends on people like you who are willing to take charge within our county and spread the word about the changes Ohio so desperately needs.
